Advanced Obedience
Whether you’re interested in competing in formal obedience, Rally-O, or just love training your dog, you and your dog will have a ball in The Canine Connection’s Advanced Obedience class. Our experienced instructors “mix it up” each week to keep training fun and interesting for both you and your dog.
Our training philosophy at The Canine Connection encompasses two principles: 1) Training should be fun for both you and the dog. 2) Training means teamwork.
By the time you reach the Advanced Obedience level, you will have experienced both of these principles, and thus this training philosophy, yourself. Each time you attend the Advanced class, you will see it and experience it again. THAT is what dog training is all about!
Advanced Obedience meets every Thursday night for one hour, beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Requirements: Dogs must have completed Intermediate Obedience class at The Canine Connection or pass an proficiency evaluation conducted by one of our training professionals. Dogs must be current on all vaccinations. Bordetella vaccination must be within the last six months.
Cost: $10.00 plus tax ($10.93) per class, or $80.00 plus tax ($87.40) for a punch card, good for 10 classes.
Advanced Obedience classes are ongoing.

"Dogs have given us their absolute all. We are the center of their universe. We are the focus of their love and faith and trust. They serve us in return for scraps. It is without a doubt the best deal man has ever made." - Roger Caras

My mini schnauzer, Max, and I have been taking classes in obedience off and on for the last three years with limited success. Max always hated the classes, hated the other dogs, and sometimes even hated me for bringing him. This January, Ed Minar convinced me to give Max another try in Advanced Obedience at The Canine Connection. This class has made a huge difference to Max and me. He is watching me better, ignoring other dogs, listening to and rapidly learning new commands and, most important, really enjoying himself.
