Our dog training philosophy at The Canine Connection encompasses two principles: 1) Training should be fun for both you and the dog. 2) Training means teamwork.

Classes We use positive reinforcement techniques in training, primarily food to lure and reward the dog. Most dogs find food to be a highly motivating reward! Over time they find that the fun they’re having with you is equally motivating, and you’re able to “fade” the food out.

In fact, while your dog may be somewhat reluctant to come into the building on the first night, chances are he’ll be leaping at the door on subsequent nights!

When training is done in a positive, upbeat, and fair manner, an incredible bond is formed between dog and trainer. A team is created!

No matter whether you have trained there for years or are a newcomer, all handlers and dogs are treated the same. The time and attention given to each dog’s personality, problems and accomplishments are just as important. This truly sets this training facility apart from all the rest and this indeed is why I will continue to train at The Canine Connection for years to come.
